A short checklist so nothing slips on launch day: from forms and the mobile version to analytics.

Source code on a screen

On launch day it’s the small things that get forgotten. We use this list on our own projects — feel free to use it too.

  1. Forms. Submit every form and make sure the message reaches the right address.
  2. Mobile version. Open the site on a phone: is the text readable, do the buttons fit?
  3. Speed. Check it in PageSpeed Insights and compress large photos.
  4. Titles and descriptions. Every page needs its own title and meta description.
  5. Links. Check that menus and buttons go to the right pages and no 404s appear.
  6. Analytics. Set up Google Analytics and Search Console before launch so you have data from day one.
  7. Privacy policy. If your forms collect personal data, a policy is required.
  8. Backups. Make sure automatic backups are switched on at your host.

All good? Launch, and check analytics every day for the first week — it will tell you what to improve.
